Dear Church Family,
Not long ago we were approached with an exciting opportunity. Respected administrators from a local Christian school came to me about the possibility of partnering with our church to start a Christian school. The school that these administrators were previously part of had over 400 students which included Preschool through 12th grade. The board and I have had several meetings to discuss what this might look like and the benefits to both the church and the potential new school. Primarily, we believe this opportunity fits with the church’s why (to love like Jesus so lives change) and mission (loving God, loving others, and loving community). We have been praying for God to send us new people that we might have an expanded opportunity to fulfill our why and our mission. While we are still seeking God’s guidance in this potential partnership, it seems as if God may be doing something special here.
To be sure, there are still things to be considered as we explore this opportunity. We must be pragmatic as we want to insure the church remains protected and that our mission (and our ability to fulfill God’s call) are not compromised in any way. The potential new school is doing the same.
The purpose of this letter is two fold. First, the board has not yet made a decision in regard to this matter and we covet your prayers. Please pray for God to direct us as we seek only to line up with God’s will. Second, we want to let you know that we will have a meeting about this opportunity on Wednesday evening, January 8, at 6:30. This meeting will give us an opportunity to answer any questions you may have, but has also been strategically placed during our prayer service. After we have an opportunity to ask and answer questions, we will pray as a church for God’s direction. In the meantime, any questions you may have can be directed to Jim Peeler.
What an exciting time to be following God! I cannot wait to see what God is going to do in and through Lantana Community Fellowship!
Believing in Him,
